Question 6:-My contribution

My role within my group for my preliminary task saw me both being in the video and also filming elements of it and editing certain bits; as all of us in our group took it in turns doing different aspects of the preliminary task. I as an individual was also flexible. we all stayed afterschool on a few occasions to ensure that the task was completed on time. I think that I have learnt numerous skills whilst doing our preliminary task. for example I think I have learnt and improved my teamwork skills. Also how to use the camera and tripod. This is god as it will set me up with the skills I need for my main task. Also the editing skills I have learnt will help me in my main task.

I think that as a group we worked really well together. In the individual roles we were allocated at certain times we all did those well I feel and as a team everything went well I thought.

Question 5:- Feed back from others

Our group paired up with the other group which made "The Race". we discussed the positives and negatives of our preliminary task. The group said that the positives of our video are...

"- Brilliant variety of shot types and editing techniques such as Close-up on keypad, CCTV etc.
- Storyline was clearly thought out and evidently a lot of effort went into the planning phase.
- Editing is smoothed out and continuity is well done."

In order to improve our preliminary task and get better marks this is what a fellow group said that these were the downfalls which could be improved...

"- The focus is somewhat of an issue in some shots and definitely something to look out for in future projects.
- Audio levels aren't solid throughout the footage and also something to try and fix next time.
- Only a minor improvement and not necessarily something you've done wrong; a title sequence could be implemented to bump up marks for your final project."

Question 3:- Areas for development

In the making of our preliminary task we found out many mistakes that we made as it was our first time doing most of this process. In doing these mistakes has ensured that we learn how to put them right.
One thing that went wrong was the audio levels, when we watched our video back we learnt that the background noise was an issue. To prevent this in the future I would ensure that we edited these noises out or we could have filmed it in a quieter environment alternatively. when we plan our main task I will ensure that when we are filming there are no background noises to take effect from our video.

Question 1- What have you leaned during the making of your preliminary task?

In the making of my preliminary task I have learned many different things that I could not de previous to the start of AS Media. One of the things is how to use a DSLR camera, I hade to learn to actually use the camera and attach it to the tripod. Another technical element I leant how to use Adobe Premiere Pro, we used this when editing our preliminary task using this software. Also we had to manage our time effectively when filming and editing our video.  Another skill I learnt was how to deal with the issue of continuity. this is to try and make your video seem like it continues from one thing to another. I feel that me and our group did this well.
